Soffia is more than a name, it’s a tribute to the men who shaped my life.
My family’s story begins in Sicily, where my great grandparents left behind everything they knew to start over in Chile. Like many immigrants, they carried hope, courage, and a desire to build something better. Years later, my father left Chile and settled in Brazil, where I was born.
I grew up in Rio de Janeiro with my father Francisco. We lived with very little, just the two of us. My mother was never part of the picture, and life was often hard. But in all that simplicity, one thing stood out: the watch my father wore. I used to wonder how he kept it so perfect. Where did it come from? Who gave it to him? How did it never break, It became one of the most vivid memories I have of him.
When he passed away, my life could have taken a very different path. But my uncle who lived in Chile and had the means to provide what we never had stepped in. He adopted me, gave me a home, an education, and most importantly, a future. Without him, I wouldn’t be here. He didn’t have to take me in but he did. That act of love changed everything.
Soffia Timepieces is my way of honoring both of them. My father, who gave me my earliest sense of beauty and presence. And my uncle, who gave me a second chance.
This isn’t just about watches. It’s about time how it heals, how it teaches, and how the moments we live can become something greater when we choose to carry them forward with purpose.
